U-KISS's AJ has made a return with a special Valentine's Day fan-meeting.

On February 16, U-KISS held a fan-meeting to greet their fans on Valentine's Day in Japan. This event marked the first activity as a U-KISS member since his hiatus to study in America.

U-KISS managed to hold this special event in the midst of their busy rehearsal and practice schedule. Leader Soohyun demonstrated excellent professionalism as he participated in the event despite his waist injury, which he is taking painkillers for.

After returning from studying at Columbia University, AJ received a warm welcome. He stated, "Everyone has waited for my return whilst I concentrated on my studies. I want to thank you for waiting. Please take care of me in the future".
 
In addition, U-KISS will begin their comeback activities and release their 3rd full-length album on March 7th.

Group U-KISS will be revealing their new song, 'Erase', on OCN's 'Hero' OST (Part 2) at midnight, March 30th.

Part two of the drama OST features a unique selection of hip hop songs such as U-KISS' new song 'Erase', Bizzy's 'Nu hero', Soul Dive's 'Time to Fly' and, the new singer-song writer artist, Joa's 'Why'.
U-KISS' 'Erase' is a blend of intense drums and a strong addictive melody with compelling lyrics that form a hip hop song.
In this song, producer YangDongGeun and Smokie J gives a new twist to U-KISS' style through mixing Kevin's distinctive vocals with a strong rap.

[NEWS] 120327 U-Kiss prepares for their first Korean comeback in seven months

The members of U-KISS recently successfully wrapped up their Japanese tour this month, in which they performed for over 30,000 Japanese fans.
On their final day, the boys revealed that they will be making their first comeback in seven months in April! Currently, the boys have about 100 songs they’ve worked on with Korean composers, and just have the title track selection left to complete.
NH Media revealed, “U-KISS’s new album is one that will mark their return as Hallyu artists. There’s a lot of fan expectations to live up to so we’re putting a lot of thought into it.”
They continued, “Now that they’ve completed their Japanese tour, they’ll be starting their comeback preparations the minute they return to Korea.”
U-KISS also expressed, “We haven’t been able to spend a lot of time with our Korean fans because of our international activities so we’re going to take the time to promote actively on TV and take steps closer to the public.”
Their comeback is scheduled for mid-April.

[NEWS] 120325 U-Kiss "1st Japan Tour's Final Leaves Deep Impressions"

The 7 member boy groups from South Korea that debuted last year in December, U-KISS, has performed their Zepp tour’s final Tokyo show, at Zepp Tokyo on the 25th.

From the first song they performed, their second Japanese single, “Forbidden Love”, they received wild enthusiasm from 2700 people. About their 6 city Japanese tour that was a great success, one member, Hoon said, “It was a dream to do lives (in Japan)” and felt a deep impression, the fans were giving their cheers while waving a shocking pink penlight, which is the 7 member’s image colour.

After enthusiastically singing “SHUT UP!” from their first Japanese album, the most popular, Kevin, said, “I’m glad we can get fired up together with the Japanese version” and showed a smile. While Kevin, who has the “daughter” position within the members, was in the middle of an MC, the “father”, leader Soohyun, lovingly said, “He’s my pet!”.

That day, they performed 17 songs in total. Soohyun replied to the cheers, “Japan have become my power. I’m very happy. Today has become the best day ever”. Hereafter, they will begin their tour once again in Hiroshima on July 7th.

[NEWS] 120304 U-KISS’s Japanese Album Event Attracts 2000 Fans

U-KISS once again proved their popularity in Japan as 2000 fans attended their recent album release event.
According to Japan’s music site, Oricon Style, the event was held at Dome Garden Stage on February 29th in honor of their recently released single, “Forbidden Love“.

Even though it was rainy, the event still attracted around 2000 fans. U-KISS had a signing event and a mini live performance.

The members expressed their love for their Japanese fans by stating, “We want to meet our fans through a Japan tour. We will work hard to show off a good image of U-KISS.”

In regards to their new album, they stated “We’d like to get a great sense of achievement as we put a lot of effort and thought into this album. Thank you for loving U-KISS’s songs.”

[NEWS] 120212 Allen Kibum Role of Hallyu Idol in First Drama Appearance

Allen Kibum: Role of Hallyu idol in the first drama appearance; “Comedy might suit me”?

On Feb 9, it has been announced that Allen Kibum (21), a Korean idol who is a former member of Korean 7-membered group U-KISS and is currently doing solo activity, is making a guess appearance in midnight drama “The Lonely Gourmet” currently airing at TV Tokyo (Wednesday night, 00:43am-01.13am JST). Allen said “In the future, I, too, want to do drama in Japan. I would be happy if it is romantic drama, but I also want to try something interesting. A comedy might suit me.” This is Allen’s first appearance in Japanese drama.

 The above-mentioned drama is based on a popular gourmet manga, an original work by Masayuki Kusumi and drawn by Taniguchi Jiro, which has been irregularly serialized in Weekly SPA! (Fusosha). The story depicts Inogashira Goro (played by Matsushige Yutaka), who enganged in imported dried goods business and liked to stop by restaurants and showed indifferent expression while eating, in between his work.

 Allen will appear in the episode ‘Hitori yakiniku at Hacchonawate, Kawasaki, Keihin Industrial Zone’ that will be broadcast on Feb 22. The character he had to act out was one who was deeply impressed with the taste of yakiniku in a Japanese restaurant and while entering the restaurant, he tried to convey how delicious the taste was to Inogashira.

 While attending the filming session, Allen used Japanese street-slang to communicate with Matsushige as well as the crews. “Initially, because it was my first time doing drama, it was a new experience and I felt nervous, but it was also interesting. Regarding acting, it was really fun as it involved dialogue,” he commented. About his impression of Matsushige, “When I first met him, I was a bit scared. He was so tall (laughs). But when he showed me his warm smile, I felt really happy. The feeling was like all the ice melted at once because of the warmth,” he recounted. “Allen was such a nice, fair-skinned young man. With his cool smile, he brought about an enjoyable mood to the place,” said Matsushige, showing how the two were being completely frank to each other.

 The recording (behind-the-scene) of the drama will be broadcast on the live program for information about Asia, which Allen is being a regular on Fridays, ‘Made in BS Japan Asia Love’ (BS Japan, Feb 17, from 6pm-6.55pm JST).

[NEWS] U-Kiss Japan Debut Single [Tick Tack] Release Event Q&A

On December 17th, the popular group U-KISS held a release event for their debut single Tick Tack in Lazona Kawasaki, Japan. 6,000 fans waited for U-KISS’ appearance.

Ther was a lot of cheering when the 7 appeared. “Because our fans are here, it’s always heartwarming. We want to get number 1 in the Oricon Charts!” Leader Soohyun shouted. At the venue, the boys were greeted with a break out of cheers. 

When asked about the highlights of their Japanese debut song Tick Tack, Hoon answered, “the dance is very cool.”  They expressed their feelings of happiness on its release and Kiseop showed off his sexy dance.

Then the members were asked to recommend Korean cuisine. 

Dongho: samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup)

Eli: seolleongtang (ox bone soup)

AJ: doenjang jjigae (bean paste vegetable stew) 

When asked “if you have a woman you like, what would you do?” Kevin performed “Crazy About You” with Dongho. The venue was full of laughter.

The highlights of the performance were when the fans were glued to their seats during U-KISS’s lively performance of their Japanese debut song “Tick Tack” and ballad song “0330 Japanese version.”

After their live performance, a media coverage was held. 

Q: How do you feel about your Japanese debut? 

Kiseop: I’m really happy. I want to thank all the fans.

Dongho: Before debut I was a little worried, but thanks to the fans I am no longer worried.

Kevin: I’m happy to be blessed with fans.

Soohyun: Because of the fans, I am happy. I love you all!

AJ : We will do our best so that we do not lose to the groups who have debuted earlier [in Japan].

Eli: Please support us a lot in the future!

Hoon: I feel relieved because of everyone. I love you!

Q: What was the most difficult point in Japanese?

Hoon: I had a hard time with the Japanese pronunciation during recording. It was difficult. 

Kevin: I have to practice pronunciation every day.

All members: I’ll do my best!

Q: Where did you mature the most compared to the past?

Dongho: My overall dance performance level went up.

Q: What are you excited about for your March tour?

Kevin: We’ve prepared a lot and want to show you a different side of U-KISS. Everyone, please come!

Dongho: We’re grateful that so many fans came today. Thank you. 

Soohyun: It’s our first time going to 6 places for our ZEPP tour. Please support us!

After that, they rushed to their hi-touch meeting. They enjoyed interacting with around 5,000 fans who bought the album.

U-KISS will release their second single in Japan on February 15th* next year, and starting on March 2nd,『U-KISS First Japan Live 2012』will tour at ZEPP performance halls around the country. [NEWS] 120201 U-KISS to Release 2nd Single & 1st Full-length Album Simultaneously in Japan

On February 2nd, the group updated its official Japanese website and revealed to release the single alongside first full-length Japanese album simultaneously.

According to the website, U-KISS’ new single “Forbidden Love“ and the album “A Shared Dream“ will both released in Japan on February 29th.

U-KISS has been receiving an overwhelming response since their debut with first Japanese single “TICK TACK”, placing within the top ten of Oricon’s music chart in December. The group was also chosen as the most anticipated Hallyu star of 2012 by a popular Japanese portal site.



Meanwhile, the group will also hold an event with selected fans to commemorate the release of their albums though its date and venue have yet to be announced.

[NEWS] 120119 U-Kiss in Kevin Chosen as "Luckiest Hallyu Star in 2012"

U-Kiss seems to be getting hotter and caught the Japanese public’s eyes big time.

According to a survey conducted by a major Japanese portal site "Zapallas", participants voted on U-Kiss as the number one Hallyu star in Japan to look out for this year. And for the "Luckiest Hallyu Star" category, U-Kiss member Kevin came on top.

100 famous Japanese fortune tellers were also involved in the survey, basing their decisions on the stars' astrological signs, blood types as well as 574 other ways to determine one's fortune for the new year.

U-Kiss’ Kevin ranked first, After School’s Kim Jung Ah ranked second and CNBLUE’s Lee Jong Hyun ranked third. They were followed by Big Bang’s Seungri, G-Dragon, and SNSD’s Sooyoung.

Kevin, who took first place on the ranking, says, “I’m honored to be ranked first. I want to make this really happen this year. U-Kiss will go on a Japanese tour and we will also release our album. Please keep supporting us and help us rank first on the Oricon chart.”

Boy band U-KISS has been selected as the #1 Hallyu group to watch out for in Japan this year.
Major Japanese portal site ‘Zapallas‘ conducted a survey asking users who they thought would be ’2012′s Greatest Hallyu star in Japan’. U-KISS member Kevin secured the #1 spot under the ‘Hallyu star’ category, while the group as a whole came in at #1 under the ‘group’ category.

This year, the boys are determined to succeed in Japan as well as deliver solid performances in Korea in order to rise to the top.
U-KISS will be traveling back and forth from Korea to Japan and are preparing for their Japanese album scheduled to be released in February, as well as their Japanese Tour that begins in March. Members Dongho and Hoon will have an especially busy year, as they have also been cast in the new drama series ‘Holy Land‘.

[NEWS] 120117 Alexander cast in drama ‘Immortal Masterpiece’

Alexander has been cast in Channel A’s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Immortal Masterpiece’ as the character… Alexander. The first broadcast of the drama will air on the 14th of March, Wednesday.  

‘Immortal Masterpiece’ describes a cooking showdown between the successor of a renowned chef and the apprentice of a top chef. Between a Seolleongtang restaurant and a master of cooking, the drama will showcase the fate, misunderstandings and forgiveness over 4 generations of two families. The drama is reminiscent of artist Heo Young Man’s original movie ‘Le Grand Chef’. The main theme of ‘Immortal Masterpiece’ is Kimchi, following Channel A’s recent drama ‘Bachelor’s Vegetable Store’ as another ‘vegetable’ drama. Filming for the drama has commenced and will be done in Daejeon, South Korea.

On a poll in Japan, the Japanese people were asked on who do they think will emerge as the new top Hallyu star this 2012, and in the survey, U-KISS took first place. U-KISS already had their official debut in Japan last year and had active promotions in Japan too. However, they have not yet reached the highest peak of their promotions in Japan.

It seems that the members of U-KISS has captivated the hearts of the Japanese fans and they are looking forward to U-KISS' Japan advancement this year. NH Media said, "We have plans on releasing new music in both Korea and Japan this year and we hope that it will be received well both domestically and overseas".

Meanwhile, U-KISS is set to release a new album this coming February and they will be embarking on a tour all over Japan by March.

The members of U-KISS have given Kiss Me‘s around the world a special New Year’s shoutout through YouTube!
The boys thanked their fans for all the love and support given throughout the year 2011, and thanked their Korean fans especially for being patient while they promoted frequently overseas.
Leader Soo Hyun stated, “Thank you to all our fans back at home for always supporting and loving us. I think that it’s the best that you guys always have our backs! Please continue to love us in the year 2012 and let’s finally make a hit! We are planning on making our comeback around April, so please bear with us [until then]!”
U-KISS threw an adorable ending to the video by loudly proclaiming their love to their fans (“I love you KISS Me’s!“), while making hearts with their hands and blowing out kisses.
